Solar Water Heater is a device which collects thermal energy from sun and converts into heat for household and industrial uses. These devices environmentally friendly and fuel is free i.e. sunshine, for conventional heaters. These are made up of collectors, storage tanks and electric pumps. Solar water heaters can operate in any climate. But the performance varies by how much solar energy is available and how much cold water is going to the system.

Evacuated tubes absorb sun radiation and converts into heat. The system generally uses water or non freezing fluid like water- glycol mixture to transfer heat into collectors. These collectors generally mounted on roof. The heated water is then collected in a tank as in electric water heat system. When the outside temperature drops, to protect the pipes from freezing, some systems use pumps to re-circulate warm water from storage tank through collectors. Selecting solar systems would benefit economically and environmentally.
